This man did not often come to the throne room. And "not often" was basically never, so he must have been summoned. Ganymede perked up a little and offered his cup out to Hephaestus.

A welcome sight to Ganymede, indeed. The man brought warmth, and just a bit of kindness to the throne room. It broke up the back-biting and in-fighting just a little bit, and cut through the icy mountain breeze that seemed to cling to him since the day he was kidnapped.
